Reigndawgs - Your question comes up from time to time and there are several threads with a ton of suggestions. The last time this came up, someone suggested using a program called,"Shrink-O-Matic". I did a search on this program, found it, downloaded it and I must say it works great. The wife uses it now exclusively and I bet you'd find it to your liking.
Here is the link to the download site, it's freeware!

Adding my .02 cents, the reality is the vast majority of pictures post just fine for most people. I'm not a coder (that's Aaron's turf) but my understanding is it is easier said than done. Not to mention, it's not really fair to compare this home grown local site run by two guys who have fulltime jobs with a larger, business site which has the budget to hire someone to build everything from the ground up. I'm sure someday we will be able to have an intergrated site where the forum meshes with the rest of the site perfectly, but for now this is what it is. Thanks.
